Can live and work in the United States permanently
Asylum status for spouse and any unmarried children under 21
Can apply for Social Security card
Can apply for Green Card within one year
Can apply for refugee Travel Document (similar to a passport)
Eligible for need based government assistance, like welfare, Medicaid (medical assistance), disability, and food stamps

Cannot return to home country
Men between 18 and 26 must sign up for Selective Service
Must notify government of any change in address
Must pay taxes and follow all local and national laws
